In many cases, the mail carrier has simply marked the package as delivered prematurely. The box then arrives at a later time, or is available for pickup at your local Post Office.

If your tracking status says delivered, you have not seen your package in a day or two, please contact your local Post Office with your tracking information and they should be able to help you track down your shipment.
